Have you ever played a game of Carcassonne where any of the following questions were asked?

"How many tiles are left?"

"Will any pieces fit in this space?"

"I need a straight road, are there any left in the bag?"

If you said yes to any of those questions, iCarc is the next app you need to install!

iCarc is a companion to the board game, allowing you to track which tiles are available for play, and track specific information about those tiles.

What iCarc will do for you:

1. Displays a list of all available tiles being used in the game.

2. As tiles are played, you select each one, which will reduce the number remaining.

3. A special Tile Details page shows specific information about groups of tiles.

4. A Played Tiles list shows the order in which tiles were played. Clicking a tile allows you to move it back to the main list (a sort of undo).

5. A convenient badge displays the exact number of tiles that remain to be played.

6. iCarc warns you when you're down to the last 20 tiles.

7. Play with any combination of available expansions.

8. The odds of drawing a specific tile is shown next to each tile.

This is one of the most important features of iCarc. Besides showing you a list of every tile left to play, it also has a special list that groups tiles by various tile details. For example:

1. How many cloisters are left?

2. How many inns are left?

3. How many dragons are left?

It goes further, and includes details on the edges of the tiles, letting you figure out easily whether or not there are tiles that can fit into a certain space. For example, you need a tile that has three city edges, and one road. A quick look at the Tile Details page will tell you how many tiles will fit into that space, and what your chances of drawing one of those tiles is.

What iCarc will NOT do for you:

1. Important! iCarc is NOT the actual game "Carcassonne"; It is a companion to the board game (See "What iCarc will do for you" above). In order to effectively use this app, you need the Carcassonne board game.

2. A special note that the graphics in this application are not the original images from the game, but replicas.

Expansions available for use:

1. Inns, Cathedrals

2. Traders, Builders

3. Princess, Dragon

4. Tower

5. Abbey, Mayor

6. Catapult

7. Bridges

8. King

9. "GQ11" Mini Expansion

10. Cult

Further game expansions will be added as they become available.

Use iCarc in either of these two ways:

1. Use it to keep all players informed of which tiles are available.

2. Track the tiles on your own to gain an edge for your game strategy!

Install it now, get some practice using it with your favourite expansions, and be ready for your next game!

What's New in Version 2.0

For you iPad users, great news: iCarc is now universal, running on iPhone and iPad in their native sizes.

You will also find a new Played Tiles list that shows the order in which the tiles were played. Clicking on a tile in the Played Tiles list allows it to be replaced into the main tile list under the "Other Tiles" group at the bottom. -- Thanks to all of you who emailed requesting this type of feature.

I also corrected a tile in the Traders expansion and one in the King expansion which were listed as having 2 instead 1. -- Thanks to Ben R for that catch.

Lastly, I cleaned up the interface a bit, and got rid of the main tab so the user starts right on the Tiles list.

Please feel free to email me if you have any problems, questions, or feature requests. You'll find all my contact information within the app.

If you enjoy iCarc and want to keep updates coming, please give it a good rating and feedback in the App Store!

4/5 stars

Nice functionality

It's not the most polished app, but it does what it is intended to do quite well. I honestly haven't used it much while playing real games of Carcassonne, but we're still new to the game so that will likely change as we play more. I like that it gives the real game similar tile tracking to the iPhone game, and even shows percentages for the remaining tiles. The latest update allows you to undo in cases where you select the wrong tile.

Nice app from a responsive developer.

Great carcassonne accessory

User-friendly, does the job, love that all the expansions are included.
